Research

    Nikhil is presently working on additive friction stir deposition of advanced materials. He is developing a three-dimensional CFD based thermos-mechanical model which captures velocity, viscosity, temperature, stress and strain rate distribution in the deposition region. The main motive of this numerical model is to enhance fundamental understanding and give some insight into material flow, thermo-mechanical history, and microstructure evolution in the additive friction stir deposition process.
