Research

    Luke is a current senior in the Materials Science and Engineering department. For his senior design project he is working on using the process of additive friction stir deposition in combination with an aluminum-copper-cerium alloy to produce an alloy with improved temperature and creep resistance compared to traditional aluminum alloys. Luke hopes to continue using solid-state additive manufacturing to produce materials with aerospace applications next year as a Ph.D student.
