Research

Max is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with the thrust area Design, Materials and Manufacturing. He works on repair processes of metal alloys using Small-Scale Solid-State Additive Manufacturing. His research focuses on the development, mechanical design and instrumentation of a prototype small-scale additive friction stir deposition machine. This work includes process optimization in terms of heat transfer, tooling, feed mechanisms, torque transmission and substrate heating.
